Hello, I'm Eric.

I’m drawn to complicated, high-stakes problems. I research, plan, design, and ship experiences that are simple, clear, and human.

I’ve spent 22 years taking things people dread and making them doable, from a transfer platform for 2.2 million California students to a mortgage app that finally doesn’t feel like paperwork.

Now I’m UX Director at Joynt, helping friends buy homes together without the legal headaches. Most days I’m still sketching in Figma, then shipping the code myself with AI tools like Cursor.

I listen first and put something real in front of people early. I take the work seriously. I don’t take myself too seriously.

Beyond work

I was born and raised in Southern California and now live in San Diego with my wife and our 12-year-old son. Outside of work I'm a husband, father, builder, handyman, and happiest when I'm outdoors.

Motorcycle Adventures

I load up my gear, meet up with friends, and head out on my dual sport bike. It's the best way I've found to rediscover Southern California terrain you'd otherwise just drive past.

Building furniture

I've been building furniture since we bought our house 16 years ago, mostly for our own use, sometimes for friends and family. I also do my own home improvement and consider myself an amateur contractor.

Camping and Hiking

I've camped my whole life, and my wife and son share the habit. We upgraded from a tent to a trailer a few years back and aim to camp at least once a month.​

Suburban Chicken Keeper

In spring 2024 we brought home 9 chicks across 7 breeds, plus a coop I designed and built myself. It's been a fun, unexpected learning curve for the whole family.
